<span style="background-color: black; font-family: "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">A Festival of Synthesized Sound
<span style="background-color: black; font-family: "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">This festival will include a ‘Modular Synthesizer Car Show’, concerts, workshops, meet-ups, and public talks. Following on from the first Ideopreneurial Entrephonics (Middletown, Connecticut, 2015), the ‘Car Show’ invites amateur and professional makers of custom-built synthesizers to share ideas, sounds, and musical spaces in Dublin’s historic Freemasons’ Hall. Demonstrations and workshops will present boutique instruments to the audience, and facilitate experimentation. Instruments will be available for inspection, with short informative declamations and audio demonstrations by presenters. A selection of participants will be chosen for a collaborative group concert. The London-based Vocal Constructivists will perform music for ‘natural’ voices, including historic and experimental works by Pauline Oliveros, Charles Céleste Hutchins, and Meredith Monk.
Here's a little 60-second miniature called Dr Bohlen's Fantasy. It uses the Bohlen-Pierce scale and a variety of timbres which range in harmonicity. The piece explores the dissonance space between harmonicity and inharmonicity by using shifting partials driven by physical modeling processes. The B-P tunings, the voices and the musical events are created in Pure Data and exported to a mixer for final production.

There's still space for your papers, compositions, performance proposals, and/or presentations.
No big names, no gung-ho sales chicanery, no Stairway to Heaven or Master of Puppets, no disappointments..... just outstanding luthier steel string guitars at realistic prices. When you're ready to abandon the commercials and find your own voice - get a car, boat, train, plane to the Acoustic Music Company in Brighton. You can take as long as you want (I was there for four hours and tried 25 guitars), and, unlike Mr. Hewson, you will find what you are looking for. Don't waste your time and money on those sucker MC guitar emporia - go to the source: AMC, and bring money!
